The nutritional composition of the foods we eat has a significant impact on how our bodies function.
For many diseases, medical treatment must be supplemented with an appropriate diet (e.g., diabetes, gout), or healthier eating habits indirectly alleviate symptoms (e.g., joint pain caused by obesity).
In many cases, however, the diet itself is the cure (e.g., celiac disease).
Even for healthy athletes without any specific health complaints, an inappropriate diet can significantly impair physical performance. A diet, nutrient composition, and eating schedule tailored to the specific sport, training load, and age-related factors help enhance performance, prevent injuries, and promote faster recovery.
Who should seek dietary counseling:
- competitive athletes and those leading active lifestyles, to improve physical performance and optimize body composition (muscle-to-fat ratio)
- for weight loss
- for digestive disorders (e.g., acid reflux)
- for dietary management of diabetes and insulin resistance
- for dietary management of food intolerances and food allergies
- for dietary management of eating disorders (e.g., anorexia)
- to develop a health-conscious diet
During the dietary consultation, we analyze the food diary as well as eating and fluid intake habits. Following physical examinations (body weight, body composition), a personalized meal plan is developed based on the results. This plan includes the number, distribution, and composition of meals.
If questions arise or circumstances change during the period following the consultation, follow-up appointments are available. To achieve long-term goals (weight loss, muscle mass gain, etc.), it is recommended to schedule follow-up measurements every 2–6 months.
It is also possible to have just a body composition measurement; in this case, only the measured results are analyzed, and the service does not include dietary counseling.
Body Composition Measurement
The measurement is performed using an InBody 270 device. The measurement takes approximately 15 seconds. The patient receives the results in printed form.
The measurement includes the following data:
- body weight (in kg)
- muscle mass (in kg)
- muscle mass distribution (muscle mass of the right arm, left arm, torso, right leg, and left leg, expressed in kg)
- fat mass (in kg)
- fat mass distribution (right arm, left arm, torso, right leg, and left leg, expressed in kg)
- fat mass percentage (body fat %)
- visceral fat level
- mineral content (in kg)
- total body water (in liters)
- waist-to-hip ratio
- waist circumference (in cm)
- body mass index (BMI)
The results are evaluated taking into account the participant’s age, gender, height, and, in the case of athletes, their sport.
The measurement can be performed for all age groups 6 years and older.
